5 Ways to SLASH the price on your Orlando Vacation
Have you ever wanted to go to Orlando for Universal Studios or Disney World but don’t have the $$$?
These 5 Steps will help you take a SIGNIFICANT amount of money off of your total, making your trip more of a reality than a dream!
I’ll walk you through how I PERSONALLY cut my Orlando trip expense by more than half!
1. Hotel Honor Rewards (or as I call it “Lodging Cost Elimination)
This is a great way to earn free stays, get discounts, unadvertised package deals, and vacation promotions!
My favorite is Hilton Honors Rewards . You sign up and earn points EVERY TIME you stay at a Hilton hotel. Once you reach 5,000 points you earn 1 night FREE. WHAT IS MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE –>> Hilton Honors Rewards has a program exclusively for members. It’s called the Hilton Grand Vacation package! You can go to select locations in Orlando FOR FREE! Yes I said for FREE. I currently have a 3 night, 4 day stay for FREE excluding taxes PLUS a voucher for a FREE nights stay on a future vacation up to $200 at ANY Hilton Hotel. What’s the catch? In order to get this you need to sit through a Timeshare Presentation – YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PURCHASE A TIME SHARE– All they ask is you sit through this 1 hour and 15 minute presentation and upon completion you get your $200 voucher (and my free 3 nights 🙂 . I have no problem sitting through a 1 hour presentation if it will pay for my 4 day, 3 night stay and a 5 star hotel. How about you??? LODGING COST ELIMINATED
2. Use a Rebate App to get Cash Back on Park Tickets
Did you know you can use Ebates for ANYTHING? I googled all around for the best park ticket prices to Universal Studios. I could not find a price I was happy with! Until I searched through Ebates with keyword Orlando .Best Of Orlando Link was listed for 2% Cash back on all purchases. Upon clicking the link I found that THEY sell Universal AND Disneyworld Tickets at a cheaper price than any competitor, AND I would get cashback on my purchase! I ordered 2 park-to-park tickets for $220.00 each for 2 days ($110.00 a day per person/ it was $130 everywhere else) and also got my 2% back from Ebates! — Park Ticket Win!
3. Airfare
Periodically airline companies will slash their prices, or have one or two day specials where they cut their prices to under $60 one-way. This is the time to buy!
Most airlines have these tickets running to Orlando for these prices because it is suck a sought upon and popular place for people to travel! The airliners that have these specials often
are JetBlue & Southwest. Recently Jetblue ran a special $45.00 for one way, and I cashed in for my September vacation. Virtually cut my my Travel expense in HALF — More money for Souvenirs!
4. Eat off-site
Yes there are some awesome places you want to eat at these parks, who wouldn’t!? But to cut your food cost dramatically spend 45 minutes and run to a local grocery store!
Stock up on quick breakfast items (if your hotel doesn’t include breakfast), juice boxes , snacks to keep in the hotel room. It doesn’t seem like this would save so much money
but in the long run it does. Meals average per person at the CHEAPEST around $10.00. Just taking care of Breakfast for 4 days for a family of Four is a significant savings! — Food Cost Cut
5. Spending Money for Souvenirs, anything IN-PARK
Buy Park gift cards ahead of time! I used Ebates again, and went to Ebay and found $100 Universal Studios Giftcards (on sale from Ebay not a private seller) for $80!
That’s a $20 savings! Also with 2% Cash Back from Ebates. I gave myself a $500 spending limit on souvenirs etc in park for 3 days & two people. Knowing that I bought 5 – $100 Giftcards for $400 PLUS got 2% cashback from Ebates!
There are savings everywhere! Don’t be sucked into vacation packages or travel agents. If you REALLY do your research and plan ahead you can essentially cut your vacation expense in HALF if not more. Finding all these savings made this vacation for my sister and I a reality and not a dream. I’ll fill you in, in September on how awesome it was!!
