Save Hundreds on your Daily Cup of Coffee
Lets face it there is a large majority of hard working Americans that are addicted to coffee. I myself cannot function without at least one large cup of coffee in the morning (often 2-3) and normally grab a ice coffee if I am out and about in the afternoon. We are hard over working Americans and coffee is our drug.. or crack, as my husband and I like to refer to it. Whenever we are working on a project and one of us is running to Home Depot or the grocery store “pick me up some crack on your way home” is a sentence that is often used in our conversations. Admittedly, it’s probably not the best reference to coffee that I would want others to over hear but if your going to listen in on my conversation then that’s what you get. The bottom line is if you are a workaholic that juggles all that life throws at you day in and day out them you probably need a caffeine pick me up to help you make it thru the day. What you don’t need is to go in debt with a Starbucks Frappacino addiction!
How much are you spending annually on coffee? Have you ever taken the time to add it up? I did, and the numbers may suprise you. The following numbers are based on just one cup a day. If you average 2 or three cups then multiply to get your real numbers.
- The average cost for a medium hot coffee at Starbucks is $2.94. Multiply that by 1 cup a day for 365 days and you have spend $1,073.10.
- The average cost for a medium hot coffee at Dunkin Donuts is $2.15. Multiply that by 1 cup a day for 365 days and you have spent $784.75
- Any size hot coffee at McDonald’s is $1.00 ( get the large) or you can get a medium Iced coffee for the same price. 365 large coffees x $1.00 = $365.00
Just switching getting your daily cup of coffee from McDonald’s will save you $419.75(if you have been buying from Dunkins or $708.10 if you buy from Starbucks. $708.10 in savings, what could you buy with that money? So many people tell me what they can’t afford. “ I can’t afford to buy a new computer ”, “I can’t afford to buy a new stove”. Yet these same people are in line at Dunkin Donuts everyday. To that I say you CAN afford it, you just choose not to make the small changes needed to be able to afford it. Are you one of those people that uses the word can’t? Make the change and start saving money today!!
