I see everyone "rolls" their ECB's.  I can't seem to earn enough to use them for some great deals on things I use.

For example, I went and bought the Physicians Formula, got my $7.00 in ECB's, then rolled them into the Rimmel Makeup.. get back $3.00 ECB's.  Then, used those on 3 bottles of Dish liquid, that were on sale for $1.00 each. so they were free.

Yes, all above is a great deal, but normally, I would not have bought that makeup (but, at the moment, I can use it for my "teen" daughters easter basket :)

Now, I am left with no ECB's, and can't seem to find stuff that I can use that are producing ECB??  Does it just take time to collect them??  And, in the beginning should I be saving them to build them up… then start rolling??

CVS is harder to roll than RA.  Just get what is free or a mm after coupons and ECB and you will be able to roll.

Thanks Cardinal!  I basically had the same qestion for all RA, CVS and Walgreens.  I am still trying to keep everything straight!  Got all my Ziplocks for each store (lol).

Just trying not to miss anything :)  I have RA, CVS and Walgreens… as well as Shaws all in walking distance from my house!  So, I seem to be at the store alot these days… I need to learn to collect the q's, and make one trip a week to each of the stores if there are some deals at each!

Thanks again!

Yes, ECB's are harder to roll just like Cardinal said~

Buy items that will give you most ecb w little oop

Ex The PF u bought If u found an item less then $7.00 is a great deal! You could of bought a PF less then $7 and got a $7. ecb I bought cover stick for $5.99 I used a Q for PF $1.00 off  oop was $4.99(if u have no ecb to begin with) got $7.00ecb

Then u could of gotten the PF Mascara $9.99 -another $1.00-$7.00 ecb pay $1.99oop. get $7.00 back.

So a cover stick and mascara oop is $6.98 and u still have $7.00ecb for next week.

Because I had $7.00 in ecb from previous week my total was, for cover stick and mascara $2.03 mm Then I can fill that in w/something that gives me more ecbs back like the Colgate bought w/Q's for more savings

Now I will save the $9.00 ecb(mascara/Colgate)  for next week and use it on something elese that will give me back @ least $9.00 ecb or more.

Thats how I roll. I don't buy extra items, fillers etc unless I really have to make up a difference  for using a Q. I basically will buy only items w/ecb that I know I will get back the same amount back in ecb's. w/ little or no oop. Dish Det. u can basically get for free all the time w/out wasting ecbs.

I hope u understand a little more about "rolling" and I didn't confuse u some moreSmile

I roll when I can.  If I cannot, I just spend them and start again another week.  Not everyone is as clever as Kathy.

Yes!  I get it now.. thank you all :)

I tried to find a PF under 7  that I or my daughter would use, and there was nothing.  I got a 3 pack or eye enhancer pencils, that my daughter can use.  It was 10.49, I think, but she wiill use it.  I already am looking ahead to the Rite Aid UPs, and that looks more promising for rolling UPS and getting things that are useful :)

Thanks again!

Okay, along these lines…I think I did pretty good with my FIRST CVS trip ever! The receipt(s) said I should have spent around $87…and I actually only spent about $35, after sales, coupons, ECBs, and 3 transactions. LOL. So the question I have, as if this will ever happen!, is– what if I'm on transaction #2, using my coupons and ECBs from trans #1, and CVS winds up owing ME money? Do they hand you cash back, or give you another ECB for the next trip?

One buys something else.  CVS does not give cash back.

CVS takes some time to accrue ECB's.  I find that I will have weeks where I have none or very little and other weeks like this week when I have over $20 due to last week's transactions & the quarterly rewards.  I use them to get products that I would like to try or get but wouldn't normally spend the $ on and also when there is a really good sale on something with ECB's and Q's.  I have found that I am getting better and better CVS store coupons out of the box in the stores now too.  Last week I had my first transaction where everything was free – that was fun!

I would recommend getting a green bag tag as well as your Extra Care card and be diligent scanning both every time you shop.  It will get you $1 ECB every 4th time or so.  I also make sure I scan my extra care card every single time I fill a prescription too.  I recently signed up for the Beauty Club as well.

I find Rite Aid the easiest of the three so far for getting stuff for free but I have been having a problem with the stores being out of stock on flyer items which is annoying.  Walgreen's has great sales but depending on the store I have had problems in the past with the staff & coupons – we finally found a really great store and now I am working on mastering Walgreen's.

As for having a negative on your order at CVS you shouldn't go negative with your order.  I do not believe they will give you cash back so add something small to your order to keep it from going negative.

No, they wont' give you cash back but CVs unlike RA can adjust your ECB.  Of course you won't want to loose much money but a few pennies is fine.  At RA even if the up is a few pennies under your amount still owed they can't adjust the up so you can't use it.

If it says "limit of 2 per household with card" does this mean you can only get the extra bucks twice using your card, then you won't get anymore?
