Are those coupons that get spit out of the machine at checkout STORE coupons or MANUFACTURER coupons? They have the store logo, but they don't say "redeem only at Shaw's."
I found out the hard way that you can't use it at Rite-Aid. If it's a manufacturer coupon that can only be used at Shaw's, then that's lame.

Just so I'm clear, I'm wondering if those coupons that get spit out of the machine at checkout are STORE coupons or MANUFACTURER coupons.

they can be both. The coupon will say MANUFACTURER or STORE coupon at the top. Also the Manufacturer coupons will have an address to remit to for reimbursement. Even if it says Redeem at Shaws but also says MANUFACTURER at the top, its still a Manufacturer coupon.

Does Rite Aid have a Catalina machine everywhere? I've never received a CAT q from Rite Aid.

This seems to contradict what I was told after asking the same question in a post October 7, 2011 under the drugstore forums. I had tried to use a Shaw's checkout coupon (clearly stated MANUFACTURER coupon) at Rite-aid.

"No, you won't be able to use that q from Shaw's anywhere else but Shaws and maybe Walmart( they take competitor Catalinas) So if there is a Shaws and a Walmart near each other in your area Walmart should take it."

Although they ARE manufacturer coupons it is up to each store if they will accept them. Walmart is the only store that specifically will take them.

So it comes down to a store-by-store policy or pattern of either accepting or not accepting these coupons, even though they are manufacturer coupons.
Is it just Walmart that tends to accept these? I guess I really need to know if I can use a Shaw's coupon at Stop and Shop and vice versa, since those are the stores I go to most.
And am I the only one who was confused about this? I've never seen a post about this topic.

I am unsure about stop & shop's policy on that since I dont have one here. Hopefully somone else can chime in with the answer or you can ask in that stores forum.
