I have the Lowe's 10% off coupon. It says that it can't be used with any other discounts. But does this mean that veteran's can't use it on top of their 10% discount that they get for presenting their veteran IDs (which they can do anytime they buy something at Lowe's).
I ask because my dad's a veteran and can get the Lowe's 10% vet discount and I'd like to give him the 10% off coupon I have but am not sure if he can use it. He's looking to get the Troy-Bilt 27 ton log splitter in a week or two. And a combined savings of 20% off would be fantastic.

Im not sure. I know that you can only use one lowes q per transaction, but I dont think the vet.s disco is a q. I would call the store and ask!

Yes the Lowe's veteran discount cannot be used with their other coupons. It's a great discount though. The trick is to watch the sales. The discount is added in (or deducted) with any sale item. I just ordered a bunch of special order windows at the 20% off sale and then added in my 10 %. Sometimes the coupons are better such as "Save 10% off $50". If you took advantage of the Tax Refund Gift Card, you also got a 20% discount because the gift card added 10% and then you can take the 10% veteran discount at the register. I guess I should add that I paid for my windows with that gift card so it was almost a 40% discount.!
I'm not 100% certain but I think Home Depot has the same rules…

In my experience with the 10% active duty discount, you cannot stack the 10% off with any other discount- its one or the other. We always show our IDs at Lowes and HD checkout and 10% is taken off our order. However, I can not recall if anything we ever bought on sale was deducted further with the 10% off. There are also other rules for applying the 10% off to special orders or large ticket appliances- we were not able to get the 10% off on special order windows at HD..
If you have a high value q, like $5 off Scotts EZ seed, you can ask them to use that on that specific item instead of the 10% off. We were able to do this the other day at Lowes. But we were not able to get an additional 10% off the mulch that was on special for 4 bags for $10 at HD.

I work at Lowes in Portland, Maine and you, sadly, cannot use the 10% Vet Discount with any other coupon because once we scan in the other coupon, say your 10% off coupon, then it will cancel the Vet Discount out or vice versa (say we scan the 10%off coupon first then the vet it will cancel out the coupon) and you will still only end up with 10% off not 20%. It is the way our store policy is and the way the computers process things. I agree with you though, I as an employee get 10% any purchase through out employee discount and we sometimes get those 10% discounts in the mail and what not but we can't use them because they will cancel out. It would be nice to get the 20% off some of the more pricier items.
