Hi, this is the first time I have gotten Staples Rewards and I was hoping to use it to buy the items this week that have an easy rebate. Does anyone know if I can use it like that? I thought I read somewhere that Staples only gives the amount you spend back (less any coupons.) Or is that just for a Rewards item? I hope this makes sense!

Yes you can spend them on the easy rebate items and get the rebates back.

If you spend rewards on items that are free after rewards you won't get the full reward. If you spend your rewards on items that have rebates you will get the full rebate. You can use coupons on rebate items also. If you use coupons of rewards items you lose part of your reward.

I was just looking on their flyer and there is a coupon for25% back in rewards until Jan 25th.

Yes, you can use that but my understanding with that is if you pay with rewards you won't get the 25% back in rewards but it is worth trying. I gave it to them today and I paid for everything with my rewards so we'll see what happens.

actually I think it is the other way around..you can use coupons on reward items and get the full amount back but if you use them on rebate items you only get the amount you spent..I got my full rward last time and I used coupons..this time I should make 300 bucks on batteris as they were free again after rewards and I have a buck 50 coupon for each package.
and BIG note..you have to pay with rewards FIRST before you give manu coupons or they cant take your rewards..I was LIVID today and I bougth stuff to use my rewards and the cashier didnt know to take my rewards first and neither did I.. so now I am stuck with my rewards to have to use on somthign else and had to pay cash today..they said they couldnt void my trans and do it over again as I would lose my coupons.???????

no, Arkilro is right – you DON'T get the rewards if you pay with rewards, but you do get the rebates – check the fine print on the ads, its all spelled out. I have also called the Staples Rewards 1-800 number before to verify, in the beginning, when I was 1st learning about Staples – if you call them they will tell you the policy.

Are the batteries buy them and get full money back in rewards? That is what they have been. If that is the case you can't pay with rewards and get rewards back. If you pay for the batteries you aren't making $300 dollars you are getting them free after you get your rewards back the thing that would make them a mm would be the amount of the coupons.

no this is what I meant but was misunderstood..if you use manu cooops on rebate items you will only get back what you paid you wont make money..but if you use manu coops on reward items you can actually make money…I made 3 bucks on the batteries cause I had 2 –1.50 coops.
And you can pay for rebate items with rewards adn get it back but u cant pay for reward items with rewards,,.and you have to use rewards to pay first then give them your manuf coops or they cant take your rewards..learned that the hard way yesterday..you think they would know their own rules..my rewards were sitting on the counter and they still took my manu coops first
