this happened to me also yesterday when I went to Staples with the same coupon from the email I received from Staples. I was also confused when I paid and a rebate receipt printed out for the USB drive, as I was expecting to just get 100% rewards on it, not and/or a rebate. But if you read the rebate carefully, you will see it is not the usual one to get money back; it is for "free trials of apps and internet services with purchase of any tech hardware at Staples". So my guess is that yes, we will get 100% rewards back for the purchase, but no, we will not get a rebate check for it. The way the rewards works is in a few weeks or so, you will get an email letting you know you have $5.99 worth of rewards to spend at Staples, usually good for at least 3 months or so – works likes ECB at CVS or UPS at RA – print out and spend on anything in the store (just don't spend it on anything you are expecting to get rewards back for, as then you won't get rewards back on that amount, but can use it towards the purchase of a rebate item & get full rebate amount back). This is the 1st time I have ever seen a rebate form print out for anything other than a $$ back rebate, but it sounds like this one is only worth filling out (you can do the rebate forms online, so no need to mail) if you are interested in their free trial of "apps and internet services", whatever that is, not even sure what it is! I just tried googling it and found more info about it on the staples website – try googling "staples free apps and internet services". Hope this all made sense. I just noticed a good deal on HP ink at Staples that I am going to post separately.
