Hi, I just joined and I am very curious as to how you can get out of a store so cheap. I've been married for 30 years and couponing for 30 years. I used to live in Detroit area and there were double and triple coupons always throughout the eighties. All stores would compete. I had tons of coupons but still never saved like "extreme".

Moved to northern Michigan in '95' and have not seen a double coupon since. There are hardley any coupons available in any of the papers around here and few chain stores within 40 miles. The coupons I do get are mostly for junk food and snacks which I don't buy much of. I cannot "stockpile" because I simply don't have the room (no basement) and I'm already somewhat of a pack-rat so I can't overdo with food also( or drugstore items). Do I have a chance on joining in on any of this? thanks for any suggestions.

You may wish to concentrate on the drugstore deals. Buy the toiletries as you need them since you have no space. Try to find a little space to store extra toothpaste, shampoo, make up, etc.? You will want to buy more than one item at a time because they are free.

Once you start looking for coupons again, you will find useful ones in the publications and in the stores. Save them to spend during a sale.

Read Kathy's book to learn a lot. Read the posts to Newbies in the Welcome section and read posts for your favorite stores.
