Try a different zip code?  Take the number 0 through nine and type different digits for the rest.  Or use 90210, 45409, 65109, 33373, 77577 that seem to be good zip codes for coupons.

Hi, I am brand new to this sight tonight. I currently work 2 jobs and am looking to let go of my part time job by summers end so I need all the help I can get to reduce my food bill. Unfortunately, I can't reduce all my other bills (mortgate, car, etc…) but, have been successful in reducing some and this is next to tackle. I have a small family of 3 and 2 small dogs so I'm hoping I can get our bill down to about 25-40 a week. : ) Right now it's about 100.00. Any advice I can get I am grateful for.

Kathy says get to know a store but, can someone elaborate on what exactly that means?? I said I was new…lol.. We shop at Market Basket and live in Nashua, NH where they don't double coupons and the local papers have little that we can actually use.

Thank you and I look forward to your responses!

Welcome.  She means to concentrate on one store until you have that figured out and then start another store.  The drugstores are the easiest to get started in as far as getting free items.

Turning my coupons into cash $9178.15 in rebates since May 2010

Thank you Cardinal. So basically just learn what products they sell? Sorry don't mean to sound stupid but, I just want to make sure I understand. I frequent a local CVS and am anxious to get this started so I am planning on starting there.

Mostly she means understanding their rewards programs – so at CVS it would be the Extra Care Bucks – concentrate on following the CVS forum on this website for the weekly deals and the ins and outs of how they work.  Hope that helps!

My stores do not double coupons either as a rule, except four times a year we get to double two coupons!

$1 is a lot of money off on one item.  When combined with a sale and perhaps a reward program, such as CATALINA coupons or Extra Bucks, it can make for very cheap or FREE prices.

Do you have Rite Aid, CVS or Walgreens nearby?  They are good for beginners, especially Rite Aid or CVS.  Walgreens is a bit confusing.

I will send you PM.  Have you read Kathy's book yet?

Hi My Name is Nancy and I live in Soouthern NH.  I met Kathy at one of her classes a couple of weeks ago.  I was so inspired!  As of right now I have committed to saving at least 40-60% off every shopping trip.  I am hoping to eventually get down to nearly free, but I think I am at a good starting point.  I was in Stop & Shop yesterday and got my $84 bill down to $40.  I love her tips!  Thanks Kathy!

I was the same way…until I went to her class and read her book…It all makes sense!  About using store loyalty cards , double coupons and matching sales flyers with them.  Everyone here on the site is awesome, too!  Try not to get overwhelmed and focus on little bits and one store at a time.  Good Luck!

Welcome All~

1st read Kathy's book and attend a class if u live close enough to the area she does her classes.

2nd Follow this site and the stores u shop at.

3rd Buy  what is free or close to free and start a stockpile as time goes by u will have enough toothpaste.deo.shampoo/cond.etc.. from drugstores whatever u can't get for free and need use coupons and rewards. At grocery stores u can get an array of free items also You just have to remember that IT TAKES TIME to build up a pile so u won't have to buy that item again for say 6 months.

4th  ASK Questions on this site under the proper store or Chat room. Everyone here is willing to help and point out the deals

5th  Good Luck and Don't STRESS.  Its easy but time consuming once u get the hang of it.
