Halloween is coming and one of the biggest wastes of money you see at your local CVS is people stocking up on candy and paying 50.00 and more, now that’s scary!Any die hard How to Shop for Free member knows that is a no-no.! Trick or treats can be done Free and all you have to do is think outside the box. There are plenty of candy deals out there to be had free or near free but don’t limit yourself to just the traditional bite size bags of candy. So many people get stuck in there ways of thinking and don’t see the obvious. I bet if you walk around your house you probably have everything you need for a Happy Halloween.
We all know that kids will be getting more candy than anyone needs on Halloween night so instead of candy break out one of your stashes that you all should have…toothpaste and toothbrushes! The mom’s will love you and believe it or not most kids will happily accept the new toothbrush with a smile on their face. If you are a new HTSFF’er and don’t have toothpaste and toothbrushes stockpiled you still have time. This week at Market Basket Colgate is on sale for .79. There is a 1.00 of coupon that came out a week ago in Smartsource . The more coupons you have the more free toothpaste. Don’t have enough coupons? Then go to the Rite Aid forum and do the Oral b toothbrush scenario.
Print a 5/25 VV and then buy 10 Oral B toothbrushes at 2.69 each . Total 26.90 – 5.00 = 21.99 get back (10) 2.69 ‘in Up’s = Free! repeat this scenario paying no oop until you have enough free toothbrushes to clean the teeth of all the little ghouls in your neighborhood. Each time you roll and use a 5/25 you will be up 5.00. Use your 5.00 to do the candy scenarios or buy yourself some milk and juice and save the cavity’s for the neighbors kids.
If you insist that Halloween handouts have to be made of sugar then try going to Stop and Shop and stocking up on free Mento’s gum with the 1/1 coupon or the Hersheys Bliss single size candy free plus a mm after the .55 coupon that doubles.
My favorite Halloween handout was the year I had hundreds of free full size cans of Pringles that I scored for free plus made 5.00 on every can I took. That was a treat for all involved!
There are so many ways to get free goodies just open your mind and not your wallet and see what you can come up with.
