You may remember when I told you guys about this company called CanvasDiscount back at the end of November, where they take your personal photographs and put them on canvas, turning them into personal art for your home! CanvasDiscount recently gave me the change to order and review on of their 20×16 canvas prints, which gave me the chance to take one of my favorite photographs taken at the holidays and have it as canvas art forever! Well I finally had the chance to have mine made, and after receiving it, I’m ready to give you my thoughts on my piece 🙂
First, I’ll give you a brief backstory as to why I chose this picture. Now for my parents’ (in the photo – & yes, I forewarned my mom I was posting this, lol) privacy, I’ve obscured their faces, but this picture is one that I am glad to have captured.. let me tell you why. I’ve had some personal struggles over the past few years, and they’ve stuck by me through it all. Now, I’m in a position where I was able to shop for them and spoil them the way I always felt they deserved to be. So I took this snap when they opened their “main gifts” and to me, remembering this moment on canvas is something I’ll cherish forever.
The canvas is of a very nice quality, delicate, but expertly stretched over the canvas. I come from a family of artists who worked with canvas, and this is no easy feat! I’ve included some pictures of the back so you can see how it’s affixed to the frame.
I will give you a tip, because I had one slight disappointment about my print and that was the coloration being a little odd in a few spots. I assume this is from the quality of my digital camera’s photos and then having been stretched to fit a canvas, but I did want to pass along that information from my own lesson learned!
Overall, I’m quite pleased with my new CanvasDiscount canvas art, and I want to truly thank them for this opportunity to capture a special moment with such a special keepsake.. it’s a wonderful addition above our television 😉 I urge you to pop over to the website HERE and turn your precious photographs into real-life artwork!
