Boy, I have nothing but good things to say about this bakeware! WHAT FUN it was to use too.. I went nuts, lol. Love Cooking Co. encourages you to explore your creative side with these unique pans, so I took that to heart and created these recipes JUST for the occasion, and I was excited to try them out with these bakeware pieces! Now, I’m no baker (I’m really more of a savory “skilled” homecook) but even I’m sort of impressed with how all of these cakes came out, thanks to the great bakeware I had to work with!
I took the weekend to just hunker down and try out the three pans they sent me; the Mrs. Fields Fill N Flip, the PushPan and the Mrs. Fields Cutie Cakes pan. (CLICK HERE for more info about the pans) I also informed hubs yesterday that our entire menu plan for the weekend consists of cake (only half-kidding, haha) but since I have a nice neighbor upstairs, so him and his girlfriend are sharing in the fruits of my labor. I’m sure they’re also thanking Love Cooking Co. while eating free cake!!
So they give me this Mrs. Fields Fill N Flip to bake a cake.. to STUFF. Um, where has this been all my life?! I must admit, using these “space age” pans, at least they are in comparison to the caveman pans I’ve been using these last few years LOL, made me a little nervous.. baking has not always been my strong suit. I do understand flavor though, so I knew that in the end, this cake would taste great 😉 With this Mrs. Fields Fill N Flip, a little butter, flour and prayer (yes, I held my breath and said a little prayer when I went to flip the “cap” onto the filled cake, haha!) Love Cooking Co. makes it easy to create something you really thought was outside of your level of expertise.. at least in my case! Now I feel like Ina Garten (my idol) would be proud of this weekend’s creations ^_^
My Creation: Chocolate-Pudding filled Strawberry Cake, vanilla frosting & fresh sliced banana
(TIP: With both pans, I had to flip over and give a swift, medium-strength quick tap and the whole cake released easily)
The next pan I tried was the PushPan. In retrospect, I wish I had bought the ingredients to make a cheesecake, which is the ideal use for this pan *SO CHEESECAKE FANS, THIS PAN IS FOR YOU!* but alas I did not lol.. so another cake it was 😉 Once again, just a little butter and flour (though don’t make the mistake I did and flour the bottom and the outer ring separately, lol, because you’ll have to slide the bottom into the pan then flour the sides again haha!! Lesson learned.) and this cake came out quite easily. I’ll be using this pan regularly for any cake in the future, that’s for sure.
My Creation: Blue Velvet cake, orange-scented vanilla frosting & fresh berries
(TIP: Add fresh zest to any plain frosting for a refreshing & unique flavor.. especially delicious in summertime!)
Finally, and probably the most fun and creative to work with.. the Mrs. Field’s Cutie Cakes pan! I say the most creative because what’s more creative than having 48 TINY blank pallets to create awesomeness on?! I’m right, right?? I know you agree – but I digress. So one last time, I busted out the butter and flour and got my pan prepped, filled them up “full, but not overfilled” just as the pan’s wrapper suggested (um, THANKS A MILLION Love Cooking Co. for that super stellar knowledge.. you have no idea how helpful it was to have cooking tips on each pan’s wrapper!)
These would be fun, cute and perfect sized for a bake sale, baby shower or little party bites, just for a few ideas 😉 Also, little kids would have a great time if you baked these and frosted them, get a bunch of toppings set up in little bowls, and let them decorate their own cake bites! As you can see from my Cutie Cakes, I let my imagination run wild with these.. so just imagine how creative your kiddos could get with these!
My Creations: I used yellow cake – “The Elvis” topped with peanut butter frosting, chopped toasted peanuts, and pieces of banana & bacon – The rest are vanilla frosted with various seasonal candies and fresh berries, to give you an idea how the possibilities are ENDLESS!
(TIP: I stuck my whole pan in the fridge to get them really cool before frosting.. it gives you a little more of a sturdy surface when frosting these very little cakes)
I truly want to thank Love Cooking Co. for these amazing pans.. for someone who loves to be in the kitchen, it’s frustrating not having the proper tools to make what your imagination can dream up. Now I’ve got the pans to match my ideas!! You NEED to check out these pans over at the Love Cooking Co. website, as well as some other unique pans that I’m sure you’re going to love.
