I just came back from a new store that opened in Georgetown called Simple Greetings.
I have to admit I wasn’t expecting much from a dollar store in Georgetown but my kids pleaded for me to take them so considering it’s a rainy Sunday I figured what the heck.
Once inside I was pleasantly surprised to see it wasn’t a typical junk store as most dollar stores are.
This store had much more than I bargained for.
I know, it’s not free but it’s well worth the buck!
Here is what I can remember seeing off the top of my head
If you are a crafter you can get circular knitting needles, fancy yarn ( I believe my daughter calls it Boule”) , hot glue guns, 200 popsicle sticks, large gliiter letter to spell your name on a wall, denim bags that you can decorate or use for your CVS earth tag, bracelet kits, 180 2×3 zippered poly bags, sewing machine things like big needles and stitch stuff. Sorry, I am not a crafter so I don’t know all the words but for 1.00 if you are crafty you aren’t going to want to miss out on these deals.
Birthday , Over the Hill, you name it from decorations to plates napkins,Mylar balloons for every occasion, and even large blinking Birthday Buttons or giant “It’s my Birthday pens”
Office and School Supply stuff
Giant calendars, clipboards, envelopes, trash barrels, dry eraser and marker kit, poster board, foam board, all sorts of paper, colored pencils, finger paint, fabric paint etc , etc..
Dog biscuits , bowls, rawhide, collars, pee pee pads, and toys
Jewelry and Make-Up
Necklaces, bracelets , earrings…and its actually nice looking stuff!
nail polish ,lip liner , eyebrow shavers (ouch!), makeup brushes, pumice stones etc..
and so much more..
Guy stuff like electrical tape and I forget what else but there’s enough guy stuff to keep the men happy
Sunglasses , toys, gift bags, pot holders, oven mitts and mats.
I have to say it was the best dollar store I have ever been too.
If you are looking for project for kids to do this store is for you
You an get everything you need for a kids party from decorations to goodie bags to projects.
And the best part was the customer service they greet you with a warm welcome and actually talk to every customer and they even give you free hot popped popcorn what more can you ask for!
I am hoping this stays a”dollar store’ forever and the great customer service last past the grand opening and I will be shopping there for years to come for the things that you can’t always get for free.
If you take a trip over there make sure you stop by Crosby’s. This week is kids week at Crosby’s and you can get free samples of Polar soda and Sobe , coloring contest, face painting, balloons , and raffles.

Last night I noticed my CVS in Georgetown had marked the rest of the lawn garden and graduation clearance down to 90%.
There wasn’t a ton left but if you have a child that’s graduating from anything next year now is a good time to stock up for pocket change.
Think ahead to end of the year classroom party’s when the room mom asks you to send in cups or napkins no need to run out last minute just pull from your stockpile and have themed paper goods ready to go.
Also now is the time to stock up on any garden supplies you may need for years to come.
Happy Clearance Hunting!
