For one day only, museums across the country will join the Smithsonian Institution in its long-standing tradition of offering free admission to visitors.
Check out a new museum or an old favorite and enjoy the day!
Museum Day is an annual event hosted by Smithsonian magazine in which participating museums across the country open their doors to anyone presenting a Museum Day Ticket…for free. The Museum Day ticket offers free admission to one person plus a guest.

Offer is valid only on Saturday, September 29, 2012. (Exceptions for Museum Day museums closed on Saturdays).

One ticket for two people only.

One ticket will gain entry in only the museum listed on this page.

Ticket must be presented for free general admission to one venue and is good for two people. *Not valid for special exhibits, parking, IMAX film screenings or for use with any other offers.

Only an official Museum Day Live! ticket is eligible for free entry.

Museums and cultural venues participate in Museum Day voluntarily. *Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for individual museum content or participation.

If museum reaches capacity, museum has right to limit guests until space becomes available.
