If an item is not in stock when the shopper picks your order Walmart will try to find an acceptable substitute.  A big plus here is that often times you will get a larger size or upgraded product and Walmart will absorb any price difference.  If there is an item that you don’t want a substitution for there is an option for you to indicate that as part of the check out process.  When you pick up your order the Walmart Associate will advise you of any substitutions.  You can refuse any of them and you will be given credit for the item.   A  couple examples of substitutions I have received are Campbell’s Chicken Soup for Great Value (Walmart Brand) Chicken Soup and Crystal Light for Great Value Drink Mix.

You can earn 5% on everyday purchases at Walmart, Walmart.com, Grocery Pick Up or Delivery when you pay with your Walmart Credit Card.
