Cyber Monday is the biggest online sale day of the year. With huge savings and slashed price who could ask for more….me, that’s who! With all the amazing deals and prices I know there are still ways to make more and save more out of every online offer. Here are 8 tips to help you make the sweetest of deals even sweeter!
1.Purchase discounted gift cards
Before your you checkout be sure and look for gift card offers to maximize your savings. Look for discounted gift cards out websites like Raise where you can save up to 40% off the value of the card. They also give you $5.00 for every freind you refer and that can add up to hundreds of free money in addition to the gift card savings!
2. Say “No Thank You” to Free Shipping
Just because you are shopping online and almost everyone is offering free shipping doesn’t mean you should take the free shipping. The majority of my purchases I make online I opt out of free shipping and choose the free pick up in store option. Selecting to pick up in a bordering New Hampshire town will save you an additional 6.25% on every purchase you make. If you plan on spending $1,000.00 on online purchase and you make one trip to pick them all up on Salem, NH you will save you $62.50. That is definitely more than you would be spending on gas.to make the trip. But, If are following our Stop & Shop gas point offers the price of gas probably doesn’t concern you because you already know the secrets to getting discounted gas.
3. Get gift cards that will give you Free gas
Stop & Shop is my favorite grocery store and the best place to grab gift cards and score free gasoline. Right now they are offering 5x gas points on selct gift cards that will earn you free gasoline. If you know you are going to shop at Best Buy and spend $750.00 you will want to run over to Stop & Shop first before you complete your online order and grab $750.00 in Best Buy Gift Cards. $750.00 in gift cards will give you 3750 points = to $3.75 off gas. Stop & Shop changed the redemption limits so you will have to split it up over 3 fill ups and get $1.50 off 20 gallons (2x) and .75 off the third . Saving you $75.00. This makes the $750.00 purchase $675.00 and if you pick it up in NH that saves you sales tax of $46.87. That’s a $121.87 total savings!
4.Stack on the Savings
Don’t just accept the discounted price without looking for a little more savings. Most sites are offering coupon codes that will stack on top of the deals making the deal even prettier. We have a Retail Round Up with all the latest coupons codes to stack on top of the already discounted Cyber Monday sales be sure and check that out before you cash out!
5. Get paid back for shopping
Shop thru cashback sites like Topcashback and Ebates and earn a percentage of your cash back on your purchases. If you are new to Ebates you can get a FREE $10.00 Gift Card with your first qualifying purchase of $25.00 or more
Topcashback will give you a FREE $10.00 credit that can be redeemed for cash for referring friends.
6. Look for rewards from retailers
Stores like Sears and Kmart are offering lots of deals that offer 100% rewards points back via Shop Your Way Rewards. I am a personal shopper with them and can even add coupons into your account so don’t be afraid to ask! Join Shop Your Way Rewards for tons of freebies!
7. Don’t think too long
Hot deals often go fast. It’s hard to make a fast decision when the clock is ticking down. When in doubt buy it and you can always return if you have to. Most stores will offer price protection so if the price drops next week you can get the money back. If the store doesn’t offer price protection check with your credit card company.
8. Flip the deals
In my book How to Shop for Free I talk about how one year I flipped Wii’s on Ebay until I had enough profit to purchase on for my kids. Look for the items that are hot and put them up for auction on Ebay. This year if you get your hands on Fingerlings you can make enough profit to pay your mortgage!
As exciting as all the deals are be sure not to get carried away. We don’t want to see any of you going into debt so be sure and set a budget before you jump online and start shopping. It’s very important to know what you can afford before you start adding every great deal to your cart.
Happy Shopping!
