Fiat Chrysler has issued a recall affecting 4.8 million vehicles due to drivers not being able to turn their cruise control off. Several reports were filed with Fiat Chrysler from customers experiencing the terrifying malfunction. The cruise control accelerates at the same time there is an electrical short circuit. While the normal braking to turn off the crusie control doesn’t seem to over power the short circuit, officials say you can put your vehicle in park to disengage the cruise control.
Safety officials are advising to discontinue use of your cruise control feature. Notices will start going out next week, according to Fiat Chrysler, regarding the steps you need to take to get your vehicle repaired. Check the list below to see if your vehicle is affected.
