Coupon Policy Change at Dollar General
There are some changes to the coupon policy. The biggest change is that the register will now recognize the coupon limits and not allow more than the policy allows. The policy has long been no more than 5 like coupons per transaction. The register will now NOT allow more than 5 like coupons.
Here are the highlights of the new policy:
- Limit of 5 identical coupons in a single transaction per household per day. The following screen propmt appears if the number of coupons exceeds the identical coupon limit “EXCEEEDS IDENTICAL COUPON LIMIT”
- Dollar amount of total coupons in a single transaction is limited. The following screen prompt appears if the total coupon dollar amount exceeds the limit in a single transaction, “TOTAL COUPON DOLLAR AMOUNT EXCEEDS LIMIT” (NOTE: The policy does not state what that limit is so we will update the post when we have that information available)
- Non-Merchandise Coupons will be rejected. This includes coupons for all non-merchandise coupons with the exception of Rug Doctor Rental. The following screen prompt appears if a non-merchandise coupon is presented, “COUPON TYPE NOT ALLOWED DO NOT ACCEPT”
- Single coupons over a certain dollar amount will not be accepted. The following screen promp will appear if the single coupon dollar amount is exceeded, “SINGLE COUPON EXCEEDS DOLLAR LIMIT” (NOTE: The policy does not state what the limit is so we will update the post when we have that information available.)
