If you’re new to shopping and couponing at Ocean State Job Lot, this is the place to start! Here, we break down all the perks and hidden ways to save at OSJL–
Crazy Deals! What are they and how do they work? Crazy Deals are a huge highlight of shopping at Ocean State Job Lot! Crazy Deals are weekly deals you can purchase in-store and pay a certain price out of pocket (OOP) and in return, they’ll give you a Crazy Deal gift card right back there at the register! These are fantastic ways to score freebies, gifts, and pricey items like sheds, boats, rugs and more at huge discounts!
It’s important to know that unlike some drug stores, like CVS for example, you cannot “roll” your Crazy Deal gift cards, meaning use those gift cards to pay your OOP towards a new Crazy Deal GC. You also cannot use them to pay for OSJL store gift cards.
Here’s a rundown of the fine print of Crazy Deal gift cards:

Crazy Deal Gift Cards cannot be used until the following day.

Crazy Deal Gift Cards cannot be used to receive additional Crazy Deal Gift Cards. (AKA “roll” as explained above) You can use a Crazy Deal Gift card as a form of tender to purchase an item that is on Crazy Deals®, but you will not receive another Crazy Deal Gift Card.

Crazy Deal Gift Cards CANNOT be used as a form of tender to purchase Job Lot or 3rd Party Gift Cards. *Related Note: You CAN use a store gift card to pay for a Crazy Deal, while still earning back your Crazy Deal gift card

Crazy Deal Gift Cards cannot be used as a form of tender to purchase beer or wine.

Crazy Deal Gift Cards cannot be used as a form of tender during our store wide annual promotions (Silver Salute, Operation Thank You, Anniversary Sales, etc.) Crazy Deal Gift Cards can be used to purchase items and categories that are reduced in price as part of a regular weekly promotion (advertised flyer items, coupons, etc.)

Crazy Deal Gift Cards are non-refundable for cash. Crazy Deal Gift Cards are only redeemable for merchandise.

OSJL INSIDERS: Crazy Deal Gift Cards cannot be used as a form of tender to purchase Insider Exclusive Deals®. You can sign up for a FREE Insider Card in-store, which can be used to score special deals that non-cardholders cannot, as well as easy access to all of their weekly store coupons, which are automatically loaded onto your Insider Card each week! No clipping/printing required for cardholders to use those store coupons!
Besides that, it’s just like any other Job Lot Gift Card.

Speaking of coupons, I’m sure you’re curious what their coupon policy is! Let me break it down for you, because you can score some FREE and CHEAP products by pairing manufacturer’s coupons with their closeout retail prices!

OSJL has no limit on how many insert MFC you may use per transaction, but keep in mind that some stores/cashiers may ask you to split up transactions – which is their right to do, so just be patient with them if they do!

Internet printable MFC are a limit of 2 per transaction, so be prepared to split up your transactions ahead of time if you’ll be bringing more!

And YES- You CAN stack MFC with OSJL Insider store coupons (we talked about Insider Coupons above) just remember you cannot use your Crazy Deal gift cards to pay for these deals, since they are considered Insider Exclusive deals (see Crazy Deal exclusions above for more info on that)
Just remember when you’re at OSJL, being a closeout retailer who might not be used to us extreme couponers like a larger department store might be– Be polite, patient and friendly with your cashiers and they just may work with you as far as their limits, which some stores will do!
