Goodbye Netflix and Hulu Plus , Hello GBox!!
I am sure most of you have already read my Break Up with Verizon post and how I got rid of cable and switched to Netflix. If you haven’t you can read that HERE
Well now I am dumping Netflix and Hulu Plus and even my Roku and loving my GBox.
My husbands friend Figgy turned us on to this great device that replaces everything and gets you every channel , movie you can imagine.
There are tons of apps you can install onto this box to ensure you get EVERYTHING you ever wanted to watch. Do a Google search and you will find tons of You Tube videos on how to add them and which ones are the best .

As for setting it up you may need someone techy to help you. I put my husband in charge of doing it.. ….When I say that outside it makes me laugh a little considering he doesn’t even use email, so that may have been the issue. What was I thinking! Anyway, he had some trouble (go figure) so gave it to his friend to install the apps . His friend got it all set up in less than 10 minutes. So it could be hard to set up or it could be super easy . I guess it depends on your level of tech knowledge. There are You Tube videos that explain and walk you thru the steps. It can be overwhelming because there are tons of apps to choose from so do a little poking around on the internet once you have the device to see which apps are the best for your personal taste. Now that it up and running I love it . We do have some issues on occasion with some pauses in buffering but I believe that is because we don’t have it set up close enough to our modem.

So to sum up my expenses
Here is what I pay for
Cable: NOTHING , I have a whole house antenna and a Gbox
Phone : NOTHING , I use the OBi via Google Voice… and before you say it…NO Ot was not cancelled like everyone thought it still works perfectly!
Internet : Comcast (LOVE THEM) I pay $35.00 per month , it was $20.00 for the first 2 years then went up to $35.00.
Total : 35.00 per month for phone, internet and cable
I LOVE Comcast because unlike Verizon my bill is actually correct each month, no crazy math mistakes, no fees, and no BS just $34.99 per month. I can’t tell you how many phone calls I had to make to Verizon on a monthly basis because my bill was wrong. I have been with Comcast for 3 years now and am happy everytime I get the bill. I got the $20.00/ 2 year plan – 34.99 forever from a rep at the back of Best Buy. I have been told they no longer have reps in Best Buy but I am sure you can find them elsewhere. They offered me the deal for leaving Verizon Fios. I can’t guarantee you can finagle the same deal but if you are savy I am sure you will be able to work on eout with them.
I don’t get all the data questions so here is what I have currently used according to my online account. Looks like 250GB which I exceed on occasion and they have not charged me one penny more for exceeding it . If you are with Verizon you probably are unhappy if you look at your bill every month. Get out of that bad relationship and get a int a healthy relationship with Comcast.
