I definitely try to be a courteous driver. Always stop for people to cross the street…even if they are jay walking. I have been sharing a lot of my almost free yogurt with co-workers lately, in return one of them brought me to lunch! Not expected but still nice to feel reciprocity once in a while 🙂

I recently took a single mom out to do some coupon shopping for FREE stuff to show her the ropes and I gave 8 packages of Activia yogurt to her. I believe in paying it forward any chance I can. Kathy I love how you teach us to give to others. Any time someone is in need I try to help out with my stockpile and I lost my job 8 mths ago and some how I am still able to help others out.

Kathy, you have given me so many ideas that help me to be a better person.
I love sharing my deals with family and friends, my kids shop at my house,
and we are able to give excess to local shelters and food pantries.
My favorite by far is getting into conversation over my coupon binder at
the deli counter, sharing my coupon journey and then giving my Land o Lakes cheese
coupons away!! I am trying to get a small group together in my area to trade coupons
and share ideas. Thanks for your many ideas, Janet

I have a bag of free items in my car to drop at the local Senior Center. I donated all the soft soap body wash to the nursing home were my Mom is last week. She and her roommate are stocked up. It is nice to see the nurses face when I hand over a bag every month.

I have been donating cat food and dog food to the local shelter after buying things for cheap or free with coupons. It makes me feel good to do things for our 4 legged friends. I love my own cats and I wanted to share the love with ones who are waiting to find a forever home.

I love being able to help out others with my couponing… I tell friends about the deals I am getting each week and I clip coupons for people that need things like diapers, etc. I love to donate extra items from my stockpile.
As for general stuff, I work in an elementary school and try to teach the students good manners – holding the door for people behind them is one of my big things… I hate seeing people let a door slam on someone.
I also think greeting strangers with a smile is the easiest thing you can do to lift someones spirit… a smile goes a long way!

Since I joined HTSFF we have tried to donate items we have scored free or really cheaply every couple of weeks to our food pantry. Throughout the year when there is a collection for the military overseas, we drop off hygiene products and the cough drops and other items. we’ve gotten free During the month of Feb our church was to help stock the food pantry. We were given bags to fill with a specific item. We did this too in addition to other items we donate to the food pantry. With our school constantly asking for classroom supplies I always buy lots of extras. I was trying to make room and donated supplies to the music teacher. I try to help out my mother buying extra items she uses and my brother-in-law and his family. I’m not comfortable tooting my horn like this, but thought if I won the coupons I would share the wealth with my co-workers (one who’s husband was laid off), friends and family.

When I first met my husband his son was 5 and my husband had joint custody. Which was great, I am in the child care business with no children of my own, so having a child around at home part time and having some quiet nights was wonderful. After about a year, we found out that his sons behavior issues were due to being abused by his mother and her new boyfriend. We quickly found out that the court system tries as hard as it can to keep children with their mothers no matter the situation. We spent every penny we had and every penny we had on credit cards to pay for lawyers to get his son out of the dangerous situation he was in. We got full custody AND a restraining order. I spend everyday showing my stepson that not all women are like his “mom” I spend every day setting the good example so he will not go down the abusive path she set for him. I hopd doors for people, let people cross in front of me, let others go first, show good sportsmanship, I lead by example and hope that one day he will pass one the things his dad and I have taught him and forget some of the other things he has had to deal with.

I have repeatedly donated personal care products from my stockpile to a homeless shelter. They need the trial size products more than the full size.

I let someone go ahead of me in the checkout line, even though I was in a hurry, since I knew they would be a lot faster than I would be

I try to act the way that I hope my kids would act when they grow up I always try and remember to say thank you when someone holds the Door Try and hold the door for others and I have recently found myself giving people coupons in the grocery store for items they ate purchasing

I used my stockpile to help a friend out at Christmas time. I gave her a big bag full of things for her kids’ stockings. I also gave a friend who’s husband is fighting cancer a bag of snacks to bring when she visits him, a new book to read and some gift cards for take out.

I saw 2 prepaid cell phones at Sears for $5 so I bought them both and donated them to a homeless shelter. Along with the clothing and small household items my best friend and I donate on a regular basis. I feel like a much better person when I help people in need.

I am a social worker, and I work on a daily basis with young parents. I give as a profession, and I am teaching my child to do the same. Already at four he knows what it means to donate, as much as a four year old can know. He understands that in our house we give things to others to make them happy rather than throwing them away and wasting them. He holds doors open and talks to older people who want to chat with someone and think hes a cute face. This may not seem like a lot to some, but to me I am instilling in him bits and pieces that will hopefully turn into something more in the future. I think everyone does a great thing, and the world is better for it. Even a small smile to a sad stranger can be the biggest act of kindness to a person. Good luck to you all in winning the coupons 🙂

Anytime I can I pay it forward to my fellow man. We take clothing and food to our local homeless shelter as often as possible. Love helping others in any way I can!!
