How To Make a DIY Mouse Pad in 5-Minutes!
Here’s a fun and easy craft I came up with out of necessity one day. I was so excited when I purchased my optical mouse to use with my laptop, only to come home and totally forget that a mouse needs a mouse pad 😉 DUH ASHLEY!! Thankfully, I had a few things in my craft room to whip up a quick, very cute and really awesomely functional mouse pad that it turns out – I really love even months after I first made it! Yep, I’m still using mine!
So if you’ve got 5-minutes to assemble this adorable DIY mouse pad, just be a little patient while it dries (yes, that part does take more than 5-minutes, but it’s worth it!) and you’ll have a custom mouse pad that you can make with whatever fabric suits your decor or makes you smile 🙂
You’ll Need: 7″ x 7″ square of corrugated cardboard, 7″ x 7″ square of shelf liner, 8″ x 8″ square of fabric like spandex, felt, thin fleece or an old cotton tee (You want the fabric a little larger to leave room to trim to fit), Craft Wood Glue & foam brush
- Spread a thin, even layer of glue out to edges, using your foam brush, on one side of the cardboard
- Line up your shelf liner with the edges of the cardboard and press down, smoothing out any lumps out towards the edges until adhered.
- Flip over and Repeat Step 1, using just a bit more glue on the other side to adhere the fabric.
- Lay fabric on glue (you’ve got excess here, so no need to line up exactly) and repeat the pressing & smoothing process from Step 2.
- Trim your excess fabric from the edges.
- Not a step, just wanted to show a bottom view of the finished product.
Have fun with it & enjoy!!
