Per Purchase vs. Per Transaction
These two words can cause a lot of confusion for shoppers.
Per Purchase means that you can use one coupon per item purchased as long as the requirements are met on the coupon.
So if you have a coupon that says save $1.00 off 1 bottle of juice limit 1 coupon per purchase and you are purchasing 5 bottles then you can use (5) $1.00 off 1 coupons in that order for a total savings of $5.00.
If the coupon states save $1.00 on (2) limit 1 coupon per purchase and you were getting 5 bottles you would be able to use a total of 4 coupons because you have to purchase 2 bottles to be able to use 1 coupon.
Per transaction means you can use one of that specific coupon in the transaction you are making. So only one is allowed on that register check out. Basically one per register receipt.
If you have a coupon that states one per transaction and you wanted to buy 5 bottles of juice, you would have to split your order up into 5 separate orders. You can do this by physically dividing your orders at the check out counter. Whether the store allows you to separate orders is up to the store. If they don’t, you may need to make separate trips to the store to use your “per transaction” coupons.
Hope that helps!
