Ever wonder how sometimes when you use a manufacturer coupon at CVS occasionally it will stack with the CVS digital coupon and other times it won’t? Well, basically it all depends on the coupon and the way they are presented.
If you have a $1.00/2 manufacturer and a $1.00/2 CVS digital they both will stack together depending on how and when and where they are scanned.
If you are using self checkout both coupons will stack if you don’t enter your phone number at the beginning of your order. If you scan all your items and all your coupons then click total finish and pay you will see your total before all promotions (because you haven’t entered your card yet,. Click go back and then enter your card and then it will take off all the promotions and both the store and the manufacturer coupon will glitch and stack.
If you are checking out with a cashier you can enter your phone number at the beginning of the transaction. As soon as your cashier is done scanning all your products immediately hand over all your coupons and ECB’s. Then once the cashier hits total you will see all the coupons come off and both coupons will come off your total. If the cashier hits subtotal before you scanning your coupons they will not both come off.
Mystery Solved!
Hi Kathy, thanks for unraveling this mystery. I still have a question though. When you say “CVS digital coupon”, are you talking specifically about a manufacturer coupon issued by CVS (meaning, it has “MFR” written on the coupon)? Or are you talking about a non-manufacturer coupon? (No “MFR” written on the coupon.)
The reason I’m asking is because, if you are talking about a non-manufacturer coupon, that should always stack with the manufacturer coupon without any need for glitches because CVS’s policy lets us use 1 manufacturer coupon (regardless of whether it is issued by CVS or by somebody else, and regardless if it is digital or physical) plus up to 3 of CVS’s own (non-manufacturer) coupons on each item.
But if by “CVS digital coupon” you mean a manufacturer coupon specifically, then I need to try your glitch strategy because normally we cannot apply 2 manufacturer coupons to 1 item.
I tried this, but my self checkout would not allow me to scan ANY coupons until after I hit Finish.
You can hit finish and pay at self. Just don’t enter your card until after you scan your coupons
