How to Read the Dollar General Tag Codes ~ MUST Have Info for Penny Shopping!
Have you ever gone to Dollar General and thought that you found a penny item only to discover that it’s full price. You knew that dot had pennied so now you’re wondering why?
Here’s a guide to reading the tags to know what season and year your items are from. You will see this code along with the year to help you determine whether it’s old stock or new stock (i.e. SP19 = Spring 2019)
- BTS = Back to School
- F = Fall
- FW = Fall/Winter
- MHF = Must Haves Fall
- MHS = Must Haves Spring
- S = Summer
- SP = Spring
- SS = Spring/Summer
- SW = Summer/Winter
In this example, the item is Spring/Summer 2019
Other helpful abbreviations to know:
- ASOT – As seen on TV
- OOP – Out of Pocket
- POG – Plan-O-Gram
- YMMV – Your miles may vary (prices, selection, ect may vary by store)
