Nancy Quayle joined our How to Shop for Free family one year ago after hearing a radio interview I did on XM radio. I spoke to Nancy today and she told me she had used coupons in the past but after doubting whether shopping for free could really be done she decided to take the challenge and run with it. She is living proof that a little determination and a stack of coupons can change your life. I asked Nancy when did she really “get it” that shopping for free actually could be done.? Here is her response; “Since this kind of stuff is my thing, it did not take me long to get it. I actually was surprised at myself for not getting this on my own. Before learning from your website, for instance, the ECB’s I received would be accidentally misplaced, thrown away or I would just forget to bring them. I think that was my biggest obstacle to couponing. Before when I would try to dabble, I would forget my grocery coupon and then I would be mad and deliberate do I still buy the item or just get it anyway. That aggravation kept me away from the practice. I also remember glancing at ads and not being impressed with the savings with promotions that included RRs or ECBs because I wanted the savings instantly. Until you jump in and have the RRs or the ECBs you are having to pay out of pocket. It never occurred to me to roll them – something I learned from HTSFF that was huge. Always tight with the budget, I didn’t want to put out that cash initially but that was not forward thinking.”
Nancy is a married stay at home mom with 4 children ages 9,14,17 and 19. Her oldest is in college and coupons have made a big difference in how well she can provide for her family.
Nancy does spend several hours a day on her coupon hobby but has the stockpile to prove that the her hard work has paid off. Nancy also told me she could spend as little as one hour a day on her coupons and still have the same results ,but I think she like most of us have become addicted to coupons!
Nancy started How to Shop for Free like many looking for answers and everyone here at How to Shop for Free helped her get her answers she was looking for. I believe for some that How to Shop for Free is a stepping stone for starting out in the world of coupons. We explain the “how to” and once many ‘get it” they sprout wings and fly off to coupon on their own. We may start hearing less and less from them but they are always part of our HTSFF family.
Congratulations Nancy for your success with coupons! I am sure your story will be an inspiration to many other coupon newbies. To view yesterdays article click here
