I can’t believe that this video I did seven years ago with Good Morning America has over 4 million views. Who knew that what I thought was a hobby back then would turn into all of this. My life has changed so much since I made this video. For one my kids have grown.. a lot! How did that happen so quick? In a blink of an eye they are all grown and I am soon to be a grandmother. Part of me misses the days prior to this when life seemed more simple, back when we were broke.
Back then I wasn’t consumed with posting deals on what is now a national website and had more time to spend with my kids. This video quickly turned my life into a world wind. Don’t get me wrong, I am extremely grateful for all the opportunities that came my way but part of me wonders what life would have been like if this video never was filmed. I often wonder what the future has in store for us. Has this always been my destiny? Will things eventually slow down or will they continue to grow?
Currently the How to Shop for Free website is growing rapidly everyday. I am extremely blessed to be surrounded by the best team of moderators/ bloggers on the internet. I also love that my kids have finally taken and interest in HTSFF and are no longer embarrassed that their mom being known as the “coupon queen” in our small. All of a sudden they are all interested in being on the payroll. It’s hard to balance it all but knowing my kids are now on my team makes me proud beyond words.
I am often humbled by the outpouring of of appreciation that people have for us helping them find a way out of debt. We love hearing how coupons have changed your life and that you no longer have to struggle to put food on the table. Those gentle reminders is what puts it all in perspective and why I continue to do what I do everyday. Teaching people “How to Shop for Free” is what I was meant to do. No one should have to worry about where the next meal is going to come from. Thank you for constantly reminding me that this is my mission. Sometimes I forget that there are still people out there that don’t know how to coupon and struggle silently. I am honored to be able to help you not only make a difference in helping yourself but watch you go from a place of struggling to a place of being able to be able to give back to others. That is and always has been the goal of How to Shop for Free and I love when I see it come to full fruition. Keep doing what you do as we all can make a difference, one coupon at a time!
