CHECK YOUR HOT DOGS~ Huge Recall!
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service says the 308,430 pounds of ready-to-eat hot dogs and sausage products from Kent Quality Foods, Inc. contain soy, but that’s not listed on the label.
The 44 types of franks, sausages and kielbasa products included in the recall bear the brand names PFG-West Creek, Kent Quality Foods, GFS, Texas Chili Company, Eisenberg, Chillers, B&W Foods, Pal’s Sudden Service, Steak N’ Shake, J. Dawgs and Galardi Group. The products were sold across the country.
If you bought the recalled hot dogs or sausages, you should throw them away or return them. Some of the recalled items were sold to restaurants, so they may have made it into people’s homes in takeout bags. If you think you may have affected restaurant food in your fridge, you should throw them out.
Some people are allergic to soy products, so it must be listed on labels. In this case, there haven’t been any reports of illness. Anyone who does get sick should call their doctor.
