Rite Aid Frequently Asked Questions
Are you NEW to shopping at Rite Aid? Are you looking for answers to questions you have about coupons, stacking, coupon policy, etc? Here is a list of frequently asked questions with answers that we hope you’ll find helpful as you navigate through Rite Aid.
What kind of coupons are accepted?
Rite Aid accepts the following types of coupons:
- Manufacturers Coupons
- Rite Aid Manufacturers Coupons (In-Ad Coupons, Email Coupons, and Web Coupons) – The bar code will start with “RC49”
- Rite Aid Valuable Coupons – The bar code will start with “RC48”
- Internet Printable Coupons (IPs)
- Load to Card (LTC) Coupons – Electronic coupons that can be loaded to your rewards card (typically manufacturers coupons)
- Total Purchase Coupon ($4 off $20, $5 off $30 etc.) – spending requirement is BEFORE coupons (and before tax)
- Catalina Coupons (could be store coupons or manufacturers coupons – will be printed on the coupon)
Can coupons be “stacked”
Rite Aid allows (1) Manufacturers, Internet Printable, or LTC Coupon, (1) Rite Aid Manufacturers Coupon (RC49), and (1) Rite Aid Valuable Coupon (RC48) per item. Keep in mind that you must meet the purchase requirement for the coupon. For example, if a coupon is $1/2 items, you would need to buy 2 items to use that coupon. You may also use one Total Purchase coupon per transaction.
How many manufacturers coupons can be used with a B1G1 FREE sale?
You can use one manufacturers coupon along with a B1G1 FREE sale. For example, if Hershey’s Candy Bars are on sale B1G1 FREE you could use (1) .50/1 Manufaturers Coupon OR you could use (1) $1.00/2 coupon.
Can a B1G1 FREE Coupon be used with a B1G1 FREE Sale?
No. Rite Aid does not allow a B1G1 FREE Coupon to be used with a B1G1 FREE Sale or a B1G1 % off Sale
Does Rite Aid accept expired coupons?
No. Rite Aid does not accept expired coupons.
How many coupons can be used in a transaction?
Their policy is that you may use up to four like coupons per transaction unless the coupon is more restrictive. Rite Aid In-Ad coupons have a limit of one per customer.
Are Rite Aid Catalina Coupons card specific?
Some are and some are not. If a Catalina Coupon is linked to a specific card you will see the last few digits of the card number printed on the Catalina Coupon. Generally, Total Purchase coupons ($4 off $20, $5 off $30 etc) are card specific (but not always) and Item Specific (i.e. $2 off Advil) coupons are not. Catalina Coupons that you receive for making a specific purchase (i.e. Spend $25 on Huggies and Get a $5 Catalina to be used on your next purchase) are generally not card specific.
Does Rite Aid allow overage?
No. The policy is that the coupon will be adjusted down to the selling price of the item. It’s been our experience however that if you have items in your order to absorb the overage, the cashier will not adjust the coupon down ~ YMMV
What is BonusCash?
BonusCash is the Rite Aid Rewards Program. BonusCash Rewards are “Digital Dollars” earned on participating items and promotions throughout the store and online, loaded automatically to your wellness+ or Plenti card for use in-store or at RiteAid.com.
When does BonusCash that has been earned become available to use? When does it expire? How can I check my BonusCash balance?
BonusCash is available after 6am the day after you earn it and expires 60 days after issued. You can check your BonusCash balance HERE
Can BonusCash be used on anything in the store?
Almost Anything! Here are the excluded items directly from Rite Aid’s website: “tobacco products, alcohol, lottery tickets, gift cards, licenses, money orders, money transfers, newspapers, stamps, other mail services, dairy products, items and services distributed by RediClinic®, items distributed by Moran Foods and Save-A-Lot® Food Stores, prescriptions, or other items prohibited by law, or for the payment of prescription co-pays, tax or shipping costs”
Which deals track and which deals don’t track?
Any deal that is Spend $x.00 Earn $x.00 BonusCash will track unless the spend amount is under $10.00. If the spend amount is less than $10.00 you must purchase it all in one transaction. Any deal that is Buy x number of items Earn $x.00 BonusCash must be purchased in one transaction. This type of deal will not track.
Is there a list available of Monthly Deals (Items with a Rite Buy Tag)
These are some of the best kept secrets at Rite Aid. There is no published list of Monthly Deals. We try to scope them out in the stores and post what we find. We also rely on Members to spot them for us and let us know about them.
Here are a couple questions that have been asked but are not specifically addressed in the Rite Aid Policies. We’re going to answer with our personal experiences but since these situations are not specifically addressed in the policies, YMMV
Can a Manufacturers Coupon/In-Ad Coupon be used on Clearance
A Manufacturers Coupon goes through the register without an issue but the register will beep when you use an In-Ad Coupon on Clearance Items.
Can I get BonusCash if I have to get a raincheck?
This is a tough one because it is not addressed in the policy and our experience is that it really varies store to store. Stores do not have the ability to issue BonusCash if it is not awarded automatically. Most stores will issue the raincheck using the price after any BonusCash is awarded. For example, if an item is on sale for $3 with $1 back in BonusCash, the store will usually issue the raincheck for $2 so they don’t need to worry about what to do about the BonusCash
