The following brag is from HTSFF Olivia A
I was horrified when I realized how much my family was spending on takeout food every Friday, so I began a new tradition: Meatballs & Movie Night. Over time this has become my most budget-friendly meal and thankfully a family favorite. I was able to stockpile the Barilla sauce for 33 cents a jar during the recent sale/Catalina deal at Stop & Shop. We are still going through our 29 cent Barilla pasta from a Target deal a while back. My meatball recipe is constantly evolving with my stockpile: Stovetop stuffing and Kraft Fresh Take have substituted in for bread crumbs, any cooked vegetable leftovers (carrots, broccoli) can be pureed in to keep them moist, and of course I only buy hamburger meat when it is on sale and has a manager’s special coupon attached!
I feel that this photo represents what I have learned from Kathy’s book & website: saving money is as much about finding a good deal as a willingness to think outside the box. Is something like your Friday night restaurant meal starting to break the bank? Think creatively to lower your costs!
