If you own a Target Debit Card, you could have money coming your way!
A Target debit card settlement of $8.2 million will settle claims that Target deceptively marketed its store debit cards and cardholders who incurred at least one returned payment fee that was not refunded or waived between June 29, 2012 and Dec. 2, 2019 will receive cash payment.
The Target Debit Card is advertised as a traditional debit card where charges are immediately approved if there are enough funds in an account and denied if there are not sufficient funds in the account. However, insufficient funds fees were charged when cardholders have used the Target Debit Card. Cardholders have also mentioned that Target does not immediately notify the cardholders bank when insufficient funds fees have been charged.
Potential Award: Cardholders who are eligible will automatically receive a cash benefit based on the amount they paid for the first returned payment fee. If the returned payment fee is still outstanding, cardholders will receive a debt reduction of 25%.
No Claim Form is required in this settlement.
