Is this an unadvertised sale bc I don’t see it in the circular?
February 12, 2012 at 8:37 pm
It was in last weeks circular… it is a month long sale though… the shelf tags reflect it. The coupon was on the front page of the Red Plums from the Boston Globe. hope that helps.

I had no issue at all… went to a couple of stores… I bought other things with each transaction so they just pushed the coupons through even though I told them they should adjust it.

I went this morning. Got 6, the last coupon beeped as exceeds. They called the manager who decided right off the bat that HE wasnt going to take it. Said he couldnt use 2 coups on BOGO, and i have my policy in hand. THen he said , I cant adjust a coupon, thats fraud, So again on the policy I showed him where it says you do. He stammered and then said. WHERE did you get this, and I said RIGHT on YOUR website. He got schooled!!!

I went to the walgreens in medway and I have two coupons and I went in, got two of the got2b hairspray(bogo) deal! Well, one coupon wemt through but the other did not, so the cashier told me I can use the coupon because I got the item free. So, I ask for the manager and she said the samething!!! What, I said one you scan the two items, I should use two coupons on two item. So, I guess I have to complain the main office, now!!! Boo Boo not to bright!!

I did this deal today too and the first one went through fine but the second coupon wouldn’t scan. The cashier just shrugged and entered it manually before I could suggest that maybe she should adjust it down. She also mentioned that they are supposedly getting new registers soon that won’t allow them to enter coupons manually. Anyone know if this is true?
February 14, 2012 at 12:46 am
I dont know how they can have a register that coupons cannot be entered manually. They would have to change their corporate policy. Jamiep, i’d say, print out the coupon policy and go back to the store and demand that the coupon be taken. As long as you have the coupon/corporate policy in hand..they can’t dispute it. If they still refuse, tell them you will happily wait while they call the corporate office to get the clarification. Stand up for yourselves, dont let the store managers push you around, the coupon policy is not up to them to interpret.

Thank You, Rboise 101!! 🙂 Yes, I did print up the policy and also call the main office too! I did got all of the stuff for free and I had to throw in a candy bar cause it’s few cent over and they do not pay out cash! Oh, well at least I got it for FREE!! Thank you, again. 🙂

I ended up scoring 24 of them all for free. The 2nd time I went back to the same Walgreens this morning, another Assistant Manager was there..and the cashier asked what to do, he just walked right up and said. You adjust it down, no problem. I stopped at another on the way home, and they didnt give me a hassle their either. I think it is more that the managers/asst manager need to be informed by corporate about the coupon policies. And if they refuse to follow it, call corp while you are there, and or complain to them. Name names, stores, etc…The word will get out there and wake these managers up.
Coupons make the store more money, move the products that otherwise might sit there.

Yes, I agree with you and I think Kathy should have a class for all those retail managers on better understanding how coupons work because I don’t think their companies don’t train them very well!! Sad!
