Beginning Saturday, April 4th, Walmart will be limiting the amount of customers in the store at one time so please plan accordingly if you plan to go. Stores will allow no more than 5 customers for each 1,000 square feet at a given time, roughly 20 percent of a store’s capacity. This will support the CDC’s recommendations for social distancing and employees and signage will remind customers of this.
The employees at each store will mark a queue at a single-entry door (in most cases the Grocery entrance) and direct arriving customers there, where they will be admitted one-by-one and counted. Customers will be admitted after in a 1 in and 1 out fashion. At checkout, customers will exit using a different door than they used for entry.
In addition, Walmart will also implement one-way movement through its aisles next week in many stores, using floor markers and direction from employees to follow social distancing guidelines.
