What to buy in January!
I know a lot of us are busy at the end of the year and grocery and drug sales haven’t been all that. But that will all change in January. With the New Year comes new sales. If you have been couponing for a while you will know there are lots of sale cycles. If you haven’t been, that means certain things go on sale predictably during certain times of the year. For January, that means all things health related. With the New Year comes lots of resolutions to get in shape and be healthy. Manufacturer’s know this and cater their sales toward this.
Here’s what to look for in January.
Christmas Clearance
Stores are looking to get rid of this stuff ASAP. You will find things for 50%, 75% and even 90% off. Stock up for Christmas 2017! Don’t pay price in November. Buy wrapping paper, lights and anything else you’ll need now. Look for clearance paper products. You can either save them for next Christmas or use them all year long. (I have no problem using peppermint paper plates in July!) If buying food items, make sure you check the expiration dates.
New Year’s Decorations and party supplies will also be discounted. Look for items that do not have a year on them and save for next year!
Diet and Health Items
With the New Year comes New Year’s resolutions. A lot of those resolutions include getting healthy, working out and the manufactures know that. This is the month I stock on vitamins for the whole year! In addition to vitamins, stock up on the following:
- Diet Supplements
- Lean Cuisine’s
- Smart Ones Entrees
- Granola Bars
- Breakfast item
- Nutrition Bars
- Healthy Snacks
- Organic items
Gym memberships will also be at the lowest prices of the year.
Cold and Flu items
Hopefully you can avoid it, but it’s better to be safe than sorry. (You know you will kick yourself you are not prepared and pay full price! Oh the horror!) Start stocking up now on the following:
- Cough and Cold Medicines
- Cough Drops
- Tylenol/Advil
- Hand Sanitizer
- Tissues
Office supplies
Another New Year’s resolution is getting organized. I know I keep saying I am going to organize my stockpile. But alas, I am writing yet another article for HTSFF again. You can find good deals on storage tubs and other organizational supplies.
Party Munchies
Toward mid-month, stock up on snack items. I know this is counterintuitive to healthy eating as mentioned above, but now we are into the Football play-offs baby! (Then we segue into the Superbowl at the beginning of February.) Even if you aren’t a football fan, take advantage of these sales. Stock up on the following:
- Chips
- Soda
- Crackers
- Dips
- Chicken Wings
- And of course football decorations
Also, for some reason, dishwashing detergent is the cheapest in January. Buy enough to last until next January if you can because it won’t be this cheap the rest of the year. I can’t explain this. It’s just the way it is.
Hope this all helps you!
