Amazon Just Announced – “Limitations on Shipments other than Essentials from Sellers and Retailers”!
Effectively immediately through April 5, 2020, Amazon is temporarily prioritizing shipments for medical supplies, household staples, and other high-demand products coming into the fulfillment centers. This DOES NOT mean that items that are non-essential will not be fulfilled or shipped. Items currently in the warehouse will ship to customers as usual. Items not fulfilled by Amazon are not affected.
The following items are being prioritized from retailers and sellers:
- Baby Products
- Health & Household
- Beauty & Personal Care
- Grocery
- Industrial & Scientific
- Pet Supplies
Amazon is doing this so that they can quickly receive high-demand, essential stock from retailers and sellers into the fulfillment center and have them shipped out to customers right away.
Other shipments into the fulfillment centers that are not considered “essential” could experience temporary delays after March 17, 2020 as essential items are priority. Again, this does not mean you will not receive your package. You may only experience longer delivery timeframes.
What does this mean for customers? If you are ordering “non-essential” items from Amazon, the seller or retailer may experience delays in having them fulfilled and shipped to you if it is not in stock at the warehouse. Check your order status regularly for updates if you experience delays. We hope this helps speed up deliveries for those that need essentials.
