Stop & Shop Register Update: What you need to know
Depending on your location, you may have run into a couple surprises at your Stop & Shop self check out. There have been updates made to select stores that effect coupon usage at self check outs. The coupon policy itself hasn’t changed but you will now need to follow a set of guidelines for an uninterrupted transaction.
As of 2/19/20
If a coupon limit is reached, the register will call for assistance and the customer will be prompted to hold the coupon. Coupon limits are as follows:
- Any single coupon with the amount greater than $2.99
- Only 3 duplicate coupons in a single transaction (we have not confirmed if this also applies to internet printable coupons)
- Total coupon amount limit in a small order (defined as any order $25 or less) equals $15.00.
- Total coupon percentage in a large order (defined as any order greater than $25) equals 50%
Note that this update is not in all stores yet. From what we know, areas of MA and RI have been effected. We will update as we find out more.
Thank you to member, Sarah
